This page lists and describes all of the features in RTSE that are accessible through RTSE's options window.
-
Site Preferences Tab
- Link Fixing
- The browser normally opens links from other domains in new tabs. Enabling this feature changes all of the links to the various Rooster Teeth domains to your current domain, so other user's links don't open in new tabs.
- Displayed Links
- This feature lets you choose what links you have displayed up in the site header. You can show or hide this following links: Username, Sign Out, Groups, Comments, Log, Journal, Messages, Images, Stats, Mod History, Friends Journals, Sponsor, Settings, Avatar.
Disabling this feature leaves the site's default header links. - Enable ATE
- Enables the Advanced Text Editor, which has many features that the site's regular post editor does not.
- Reply Text with Quotes
- When enabled, this feature includes the "In reply to" text when you hit the "Quote" button. When disabled, the "In reply to" text is only displayed by clicking the "Reply" button.
- Display Achievement Hunter Smilies
- When enabled, the AH smilies are available, regardless of whether you are on the achievementhunter.com domain. (Currently only works with the ATE enabled.)
- Enable Smilies
- This feature adds the ability to include custom smilies in the ATE, regardless of sponsorship status. See this page for information on how to add new smilies.
- [Smilies List]
- Shows the current list of all custom smilies installed in RTSE.
- Add Watchlist to Every Page
- With this feature enabled, RTSE will pull a copy of your RT watchlist alerts from your user page, and then attach it to whatever page you are on. This allows you to have access to your alerts from any page, and also allows you to see journal and image alerts from forum pages.
- Color watchlist items by context
- This feature colors your various watchlist alerts, depending on what each item is. This lets you easily determine whether an alert is for a forum post, a group forum post, a user comment, or something else.
- Enable Forum Jump Box
- This feature adds a dropdown list to the top left corner of each page. In this dropdown is a user-selected list of RT subforums. When you click on one of them, it takes you directly to that forum.
- Select/Deselect all forums
- Pretty self-explanatory, but this checkbox toggles on and off all of the subforums in the list.
- [Forum List]
- The list of each of the main forums on the site. Each one can be individually turned on and off. This list does not include the Achievement Hunter forums.
- Enable the Extra Tab
- When enabled this adds an extra dropdown tab to the site's navigation header. This gives the user an extra place to store up to four links. Links can be internal, external, relative, or absolute.
- Show Sidebar
- This checkbox toggles the visibility of the site's main sidebar.
- Show Header
- This checkbox toggles the visibility of the site's header ad.
- Show Journal Sidebar
- This checkbox toggles the visibility of the new journal sidebar.
- Show site's default background image
- This checkbox toggles the visibility of the site's background image. In the future, I plan to allow the user to specify their own background image to replace the site's.
- Redirect Blog/Commentary Posts
- In some of the forums, there are special "blog" threads, where links to articles can be posted. But to keep things organized, all comments about those articles go into the corresponding "commentary" threads. With this feature enabled, clicking the "Reply" button to a post in one of those blog threads will modify the post form so that it will automatically submit the post to the correct commentary thread.
This feature also redirects the "Reply" buttons on user comment pages, so that replies go directly do that user. - Reset RTSE
- RTSE's configuration failsafe. Resets all of RTSE's preferences to their default values.
DO NOT USE THIS UNLESS YOU REALLY MEAN TO!!!
